Press Release Body = A new on-line community, the Be Real Revolution, is rolling out its 2006 programs for socially responsible business owners and others interested in creating sustainable business and using green business practices. Led by green business coach Anne Alexander, the community provides free access to interviews and other resources.
"I find that there are significant numbers of business owners who are very interested in moving toward a socially responsible, green business model, "said Alexander. "Consumers are also interested in learning about such businesses and are part of this community, as well. With over 6 billion people on the planet, we face major human and environmental pressures. Business has the largest impact and the biggest opportunity to create a healthy and just world community."
The January and February line up includes live interviews starting on January 10 with Cecil Wright of Organic Valley, the largest cooperative of organic farmers in the U.S. and one of the nation\'s leading organic brands. On January 24, John Abram, author of The Company We Keep: Reinventing Small Business for People, Community, and Place (Chelsea Green, 2005) will answer questions about his 30 year experience as founder and co-owner of South Mountain Company, a successful employee-owned design/build company on Martha\'s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
In February, David Zutler, CEO and founder of BIOTA Spring Water will be interviewed about his revolutionary product, the first bottled water in a biodegradable/compostable bottle made from corn. Zutler\'s passion is starting a world-wide movement to use bio-based plastics, to replace the devastating effects of burning oil-based plastic products.
Audio recordings of past interviews are available at http://www.berealrevolution.com and include the owners of LineSync Architecture, an award winning specialist in green building; Visionworks, a distributor of progressive books, cards, and calendars; and Numi Tea, a leading manufacturer of organic tea.
The Be Real Revolution formed around socially responsible business, green business and sustainable businesses which orient around a triple bottom line of people, planet and profits.
§ The "people" bottom line means a strong commitment to ethical behavior and empowering employees to bring out their best, which also yields the greatest economic returns. It also includes maintaining healthy work place standards, diversity, fair labor practices, fair wage and benefits, and a safe workplace.
§ The "planet" bottom line refers to reducing the environmental impact or \"footprint\" of the business. This frequently also improves the profitability of the business.
§ "Profits" includes creating a sustainable brand using the innovation and creativity of everyone. It also means reinvesting in the business for healthy rate of growth and balancing the interests of all stakeholders, including employees, customers, investors, vendors, and communities.
The consumer demand for green and socially responsible products and services is growing rapidly as awareness increases about the global environmental impact of commerce and the benefits to all of empowered employees.
